Pragna Patel, the director of Southall Black Sisters speaks at a demonstration outside Westminster Magistrates Court against Government cuts to legal aid, while across England and Wales criminal barristers hold a half-day stoppage, the first such action by lawyers in British history. The Justice Alliance, who co-ordinated the protest has the support of a cross-section of NGO’s, Trade Unions, charities and grass roots organisations including Amnesty UK, Liberty, Unite, and the Children’s Society. © Patricia Phillips
